11. Browser extension

When you install and use the Weave browser extension, we access certain browser capabilities to provide our service. Below is a complete list of permissions and how they are used:

Storage
To save your preferences, workflow configurations, and session data locally in your browser.
Tabs
To detect which page you are viewing so we can provide context-aware sidebar functionality.
Alarms
To schedule background tasks such as syncing data and maintaining session state.
Host permissions (optional)
When you grant permission, the extension can interact with page content to enable workflow automation, form assistance, and data extraction features. You control which sites the extension can access.

What the extension accesses on pages: When active on a page, the extension may read page content (such as form fields and text) to provide its features. This data is processed locally in your browser unless you explicitly use a feature that requires server communication (such as AI-powered assistance or cross-device sync).

Local data storage: Workflow recordings, preferences, and temporary session data are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data remains on your device unless you choose to sync it.
